What is lighting control and automated lighting all about?

In simple terms, it is the ability to turn on, off or adjust more than one light circuit or zone at the same time, as well as to use motion, schedules or other events to interact with your lights.

For example, it is evening and you have been out and arriving home at around 11:30pm: As you arrive home, your outside wall lights are already on as they are on a sunrise to sunset timer that knows the exact time of sunset and sunrise for where you live, as you approach the front door, the porch light comes one via the motion sensor. When you enter your front door, a movement sensor automatically turns the hallway lights to a preset evening scene with the wall lights at 60%, leaving the chandelier off and also turning the low level floor lights on, you now walk into the kitchen / living and press the light switch or select the evening mood and the wall lights come on at 40% dimming, the downlights at 60% dimming, the counter lights on and the curtains or blinds close if they were still open.

Another example could be when you leave the house for an evening out: For this we have a special button programmed at the front door, so when you leave, you press this button to activate the “All Out” or “Away Mode”, this then turn all the unwanted lights off in the house and activate “presence simulation” where all the rooms that have been included in the presence simulation will randomly turn the lights on and off based on preset times for each room to give the illusion that someone is still at home. If you had curtains and blinds, these could be set to automatically close as well.

These are just some of the typical smart lighting options, we however also appreciate that not everyone likes the idea of lights coming on by themselves or the use of motion sensors inside the house and
